Dwell Open House 2026: Los Angeles
Dwell's 2026 Los Angeles Open House event showcases three unique residential projects alongside a special tour of the historic Hollyhock House.

Dwell recently announced its 2026 Los Angeles Open House event, a curated tour highlighting the city's enduring spirit of architectural experimentation. The event features three distinct residential projects that showcase contemporary design approaches, ranging from hillside homes with stunning vistas to sculptural renovations that embrace unconventional aesthetics. Participants will also have the rare opportunity to tour Frank Lloyd Wright’s Hollyhock House, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a foundational pillar of California modernism.
The featured homes include a family residence by architect Clive Wilkinson, a refreshed sculptural home originally designed by Fritz Haeg, and a new project by Takashi Yanai of EYRC. Yanai’s design notably incorporates yakisugi siding and custom CMU blocks, blending Japanese design sensibilities with 1970s architectural influences and brutalist elements. This event serves as a celebration of both the city's historic legacy and its ongoing evolution in residential architecture.
